As part of the Fifth Edition of the Social World Film Festival (SWFF 2015) in Vico Equense, which takes place every year in this beautiful town, the gateway to the Sorrentine Coast, on 4 - 12 July 2015, a special tribute will be dedicated to Lucio Dalla. At the initiative of the Festival Director, Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, in national première on the evening of 7th July, the Cinema Museum of the Sorrentine Area and Peninsula (Old Town Hall, 98 Corso Filangieri) will show the documentary film written, narrated and directed by Raffaele Lauro, entitled "Lucio Dalla and Sorrento - Places of the Soul". The work was produced by GoldenGate Edizioni and created by SorrentoChannel.TV. The film, lasting 60 minutes, is set in five locations, all linked to the memory of the great artist: Tasso Square, Syrenuse Bar, Bar Fauno and the Fauno Notte Club, the nightclub of Franco and Peppino Jannuzzi, where Dalla performed for the first time as clarinettist in September 1964, with the band of The Flippers; Marina Piccola, with the terrace of La Scogliera owned by Angelo Leonelli, where Dalla after a day on sea, would lounge with his guests and friends from the port; Marina Grande, where in 2003 he received the Enrico Caruso Award; Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, where, in August 1985, in the suite named after the great tenor by the Fiorentino family, he began composing "Caruso"; Sorrento Palace, now Hilton Sorrento Palace, hosted by Giovanni Russo, where Dalla, on a piano made in Korea, completed and refined his masterpiece. On the initiative of the City of Vico Equense, and of the Councillor for Culture, Giuseppe Ferraro, on this occasion, the halls of the Museum will host the "Lucio Dalla and Sorrento" Photo Exhibition, curated by Antonino Fattorusso and inaugurated by the Mayor of Sorrento, Giuseppe Cuomo, in the Municipal Palace of Sorrento on 28th February 2015. The work will be presented later on in Barletta, in San Martino Valle Caudina and in Sofia, at the Embassy of Italy in Bulgaria, in the course of an evening dedicated to Sorrento. The documentary film subtitled in English will allow foreign guests present in the Sorrentine Peninsula to attend the event. The guest of honour of the evening will be Donna Violetta Elvin, the great Russian dancer, and protagonist of the new novel by Raffaele Lauro, “Dance The Love”, expected for release in February 2016, to complete the “Sorrentine Trilogy”.
