"The Social World Film festival reaches its 5th edition and transforms itself into a festival of social film and an international exhibition of social cinematography thanks to the Cinema Museum of the area and the Sorrentine Peninsula". Those were the words of the General Director of the Social World Film Festival, Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, during the presentational press conference, which took place yesterday morning at Maschio Angioino. 30 films will compete for the "Official Selection", coming from 14 different countries, as a proof of a stronger and stronger bond between the exhibition of Vico Equense and world cinema. Apart from that, the premières of 23 films, 8 of which Italian, 6 European premières and 9 world premières. The Social World Film Festival will take place in Vico Equense from 4th until 12th July. The Kennedy Square of Vico Equense will be transformed into the Loren Arena, with the projections of successful films of the past cinematography era, and important tribute evenings, such as the one dedicated to Francesco Rosi and Virna Lisi, and the evening in memory of Totò and Eduardo De Filippo (present on the poster of this year's edition). Among the expected guests there are Franco Nero and Alessandro Haber (5th July), Riccardo Scamarcio (9th July), Leo Gullotta (10th July), Andrea Osvart and Renato Scarpa (11th July). The godmother of this edition will be actress Valeria Golino, while to preside over the Quality Jury 2015 is director Stefano Incerti. The festival will be inaugurated on Saturday 4th July, with the screening of the documentary not in competition, entitled "Normale #lavita" by Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, which tells the story of a young girl, Federica Paganelli, aged 20, the only person in the world to live with the disease of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) in contrast to mortality to be faced by her in around two years. Among the evening events of 7th July: the world première of the documentary of "Lucio Dalla and Sorrento - Places of the Soul" by Raffaele Lauro, with the participation of the Author and the guest of honour, Violetta Elvin, and the inauguration of the photo exhibition "Lucio Dalla and Sorrento" by Antonino Fattorusso (the exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Sorrento, and will be open every day until the end of the festival). Speaking at the press conference, the Mayor of Vico Equense, Benedetto Migliaccio, stressed that "the link between the Social World Film Festival and the City of Vico Equense is growing every year and is now indissoluble".
