The affectionate bond with Castellammare di Stabia, the city of Raffaele Viviani and Annibale Rucello, pushed Lucio Dalla to hypothesize on a festival of theatre and music, called “Progetto Stabia”. Herein, Dalla was consoled by two memorable concerts: the first one, held in the archaeological villa of Varano, reserved for a small circle of invited participants; the other one, extremely popular, which took place on the big beach in front of the Villa Comunale, offered to thousands of cheering inhabitants in gratitude for the summer hospitality offered to his boat moored in Marina di Stabia. The event “Tribute to Lucio Dalla”, organised by the Lions Club Castellammare di Stabia Host, will take place on Friday, 4th Dcember 2015, at 5.30pm, at Hôtel dei Congressi, in Viale Puglia 45, in Castellammare di Stabia. The programme of the event includes the presentation of the biographical novel by Raffaele Lauro, “Caruso The Song - Lucio Dalla and Sorrento”. Introduction and hosting by journalist Ermanno Corsi. Welcome greeting by Angelo Palmieri, President of the Lions Club Castellammare di Stabia Host. Among the speakers: Antonio Parisi, neurologist and former President of the Lions Club Sorrentine Peninsula; Nicola Cuomo, former Mayor of Castellammare di Stabia, and Pierluigi Fiorenza, journalist. The event will be concluded by Gianfranco Sava, former Governor of District 108 Ya. The speeches will be followed by a documentary by Raffaele Lauro, “Lucio Dalla and Sorrento - Places of the Soul” (54’, subtitled in English), and a documentary by Pierluigi Fiorenza, “Lucio Dalla and Castellammare di Stabia”. “Lucio Dalla's relationship with the people of Castellammare – said Raffaele Lauro – was different than his relationship with the Sorrentines. The inhabitants of Stabia approached him gently tiptoeing. They awaited him at the entrance of the marina, they brought him mozzarella, bagels of Agerola and wheat biscuits, a specialty from Stabia, which he liked a lot, to prepare the caponata on board of his boat. They also brought him wine, although the great artist had advised everyone of being a teetotaller. They almost made him kiss babies and asked for his blessing as if he was a bishop.”
