The current mayor, Giuseppe Cuomo, who proposed the conferral of the honorary citizenship of Sorrento to Lucio Dalla, the former mayor, Marco Fiorentino, who established the "Premio Caruso" award and granted it in its second edition of 2003 to the singer from Bologna, the former mayor, Ferdinando Pinto, who awarded him the honorary citizenship with a solemn session of the City Council in 1997 at the Cloister of St. Francis, the former mayor, Antonino Cuomo, President of the Association of Sorrentine Historical Studies, writer Giuliana Gargiulo, a friend of the great artist, Prof. Antonino Siniscalchi, who interviewed him in 1990 on the album of "Cambio", and finally Eugenio DAndrea, a lawyer who became his attorney, will present the new novel by Raffaele Lauro, "Caruso The Song - Lucio Dalla and Sorrento", in Sorrento on the eve of the third anniversary of the artist's death. The event, under the aegis of the City Administration, will be held on Saturday, on 28th February 2015 at 5 pm., at the Council Chamber of the Town Hall of Sorrento. The presentation will be hosted by journalist Antonino Pane, with the introduction by the Councillor for Culture, Maria Teresa De Angelis. Lauro's novel is unprecedented, with revelations and important testimonies unreleased in the other biographies of Dalla. It reconstructs the inner world, the poetry and, in particular, the singer's almost fifty-year-long bond with Sorrento, which he called the "true corner of his soul", the inspiration for his masterpiece, "Caruso", known all over the world. The work is set in the areas most loved by Dalla (Piazza Tasso, Marina Piccola, Marina Grande) and crowded with his old friends (such as, among others, Franco, Peppino and Tanino Jannuzzi; Giovanni Russo; Angelo Leonelli; Pasquale Ruocco). Raffaele Lauro, after "Sorrento The Romance" dedicated to Massa Lubrense and Sorrento, and "Caruso The Song - Lucio Dalla and Sorrento" dedicated to Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, Piano and Meta, has began writing the third novel of his Sorrentine trilogy, dedicated this time to Vico Equense through a romantic love story, entitled "DanceandLove - Le Axidie Marina d'Aequa".
