The Sorrentine writer, Raffaele Lauro, launches a proposal to the municipal administration of Sorrento to award the "Premio Caruso 2015" to the three young tenors from Il Volo: Ignazio Boschetto, Piero Barone and Gianluca Ginoble. "Sorrento", said Lauro, "cannot fall back on provincialism and cannot miss, also for the huge media impact, the privileged occasion to award this year's 'Premio Caruso' to Il Volo, who in a course of a few years have become a worldwide singing phenomenon led by a management team of the highest profile. The amazing (and harmonious) voices of Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca, who sing in Italian, English, Spanish, French and German, as well as their extraordinary and amazing repertoire, from classical music to pop, from internationally known melodies to our Neapolitan tradition, deserve this prestigious award in memory of Enrico Caruso, awarded also in the first two editions to the likes of Andrea Bocelli and Lucio Dalla. Moreover, Il Volo interprets in a masterful way our two musical gems: 'Torna a Surriento' and 'Caruso'. The achievements of the group do not allow us to wait any longer to be able to have them in Sorrento. Therefore, I take the opportunity to present this advanced proposal."
